Every year fashion's elite come out to showcase fabulous gowns and total glamour. Many designers take models, celebrities, and socialites as dates and as a springboard for their latest designs. This year, the Costume Institute Gala honored the late Alexander McQueen at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Needless to say, the creme de la creme of fashion came out to support this extremely talented man (his house just designed Kate Middelton's wedding dress!!).

I was SO thrilled that Kate Middelton chose Sarah Burton from Alexander McQueen to design her wedding dress. She looked like a modern-day Grace Kelly and a perfect princess to-be.

Real vs. $teal: Joie Sandals

Ever since I spotted these Joie sandals on the Piperlime & Shopbop websites, I have been obsessed. I think they are perfect for summer and the color can go with anything. However, I can’t justify spending $255 of my summer budget on a pair of sandals.

Steve Madden PAIIGE BONE, $69.95

That’s why I nearly DIED when I found a very reasonable replica by personal shoe favorite, Steve Madden. For under $100, I think the Steve Madden version is nearly an exact match to the Joie version. Plus, they come in a variety of colors. I’ll be getting the cognac color for sure.
